Guest Blogger: Book Review: Croak by Gina Damico

TBF Countdown: 17 days!

Hello! My name is Kim. I'm a school librarian in the Rochester area. I read Croak by Gina Damico a few months ago in anticipation of TBF!

Lex Bartelby is shipped off by her parents to her uncle's farm in the Adirondacks after she causes havoc at her school. Her parents hope that a summer of hard work on the farm will change Lex's behavior. However, when Lex meets her Uncle Mort, she learns that he is not as he appears: he is actually a Grim Reaper. Lex's strange behaviors are much like her uncle's. Lex learns that she has the powers to be a Reaper, too. However, if she decides to follow in her uncle's footsteps, what will she have to give up?

Croak was a fun read! The plot is fast-paced and the characters are interesting. I enjoyed how the characters interacted with each other.

Croak is the first in a trilogy, followed by Scorch and Rogue. All are about Lex's adventures in Croak. Check them out at your local public or school library!
